After the gang successfully managed to keep Vanya from blowing everything up, Klaus had a few days where he tried to figure out where to go from there. After several long, annoyingly supportive conversations with Ben, he decided to try another shot at getting clean. Everyone had seen him summon Ben during the concert hall fight with all those Commission agents, but he had managed to completely avoid any and all conversations about it afterward.
Klaus checked himself back into rehab for just long enough to get through the worst of the withdrawals, which was just about a week. He cut out alcohol and cigarettes along with the drugs, which he is constantly regretting.
Any time any of his siblings have gotten close to bringing up Ben, Klaus finds a way to either change the subject or escape the situation.
TUA/MCU AU Klaus Headcanons
Childhood/Adolescence
* Klaus started smoking weed when he was around 13, not too long before Five disappeared.
* After Five disappeared, Klaus tried to summon him several times throughout his childhood to see if he was dead or still alive.
* After Ben's death, Reginald tried to get Klaus to summon him. Since he had already summoned him, Klaus pretended that he wasn't able to.
* Klaus thought that if Reginald knew he could summon Ben, that he'd continue to use Ben from the afterlife.
* Originally, the reason why he didn't tell his siblings about him summoning Ben was that he didn't want any of them to tell Reginald (on accident or on purpose).
* Klaus left the Academy a few months after Ben died.
Pre-Season One
* Klaus has periodically had a cellphone over the years. It usually wasn't very long before he pawned it for cash.
* There are few phone numbers he remembers, mostly Ben is his personal walking phone book.
* Diego is listed as his emergency contact.
* Klaus has occasionally had social media accounts -- though he usually makes a new account any time he can't remember his password (which is pretty much every time he has a new phone). He has made thirst posts about the Avengers.
* Occasionally he has crashed on his siblings' couches over the years, for the siblings he was able to keep track of.
* Klaus has been known to steal from his siblings for money for drugs when short on cash.
Post-Season One (AU)
* The first couple of weeks after getting back from rehab Klaus didn't leave the Academy. Partly because Ben didn't trust him not to go find a dealer and partly because he didn't trust himself not to go find a dealer.
* Klaus has '''''borrowed''''' about $30 from Luther's nightstand over the course of a few weeks.
* In his phone Five is listed as "murder baby", Vanya is "little baby", Diego is "Batman", Luther is "Lulu", Allison is "Dancing Queen", and Rey is "reyrey".
* Klaus has tried a few times to summon Dave's ghost, but hasn't had a lot of success. Mostly because he's worried that if he summons him, Dave might end up being like one of the grotesque, screaming ghosts that follow him around.
TUA/MCU AU :: Tracker :: In Chronological Order
Since they're joined at the hip, I'm combining Klaus and Ben's (notyourghostbitch) CR Tracking. Some of the threads are a bit uhhhh uncertain of WHEN they take place, but this is the best timeline I can come up with.
Family Matters :: Five, Klaus, & Ben
Five tells Klaus that he has a son. Klaus summons Ben for Five to see and talk to.
First Meeting :: Five, Klaus (& Ben), Rey, Peter, May, and NPC'ed Hargreeves
Five introduced Peter and his aunt May to the family. Everyone somewhat attempts to behave. It only slightly succeeds.
Gossip Time :: Klaus (& Ben) and Rey
Klaus and Rey talk about Peter and the family.
Ghost Texts :: Ben and Five {texting}
Ben uses his new-found Patrick Swayze ghost skills to use Klaus's phone while he's in the bath. Five decides to buy Ben a phone and tablet of his own, since he can use them now.
What are you up to? :: Five and Klaus {texting}
Klaus has been avoiding everyone because he's procrastinating on talking to the family about Ben. Five confronts him about it.
Mis-fire Text :: Ben and the Handler {texting}
Ben tries to send Five a text but accidentally ends up texting the Handler, but has no idea who she is. He's thrilled to be talking to someone who isn't Klaus or Five and ends up sharing a little too much information about himself and the family.
Ben's Evanescanse Phase :: Klaus and Five
Klaus tries to anonymously embarrass Ben over his "emo phase" and ends up dragging Five into a bet that he is immune to being embarrassed.
Coffee :: Ben and Five {texting}
Ben takes advantage of his new phone to mother-hen Five's eating habits.
Stalking :: Klaus, Ben, and Lila
After Ben texts the Handler, Lila is assigned to follow Klaus. She copies Klaus's powers and pretends to innocently run into both him and Ben.
Need a favor :: Klaus and Rey {texting}
Rey asks Klaus to pick her some comfort items up at the store and they end up having a cozy movie night. Rey also gives Klaus $500, which may or may not have been a good idea.
